Wow cool, I would love to do 4:10's because I could care less about top speed. How much does this affect mpg?

I drove home from the install shop 38 miles on the interstate varied my speed between 50-70 (closerto 70most of the way)then another 10 miles city driving. When I got home it said average MPG was 24.7, which was about 1 mpg less than I was seeing before. (I was not getting on it, just driving normal)

Well, I took the car out today was working on breaking in the gears, took my wife for a ride, and the first thing she says is what's that noise. I turn down the radio cut the heat and I don't hear anything, then I let off the gas and there it was the dreaded gear whine. It's not loud, but any whine to me is not acceptable. I called FRPP tech department, and they told 9 times out of 10 that coast or decelleration whine is caused by to much pinion depth, they told me to bring it back and have them reduce the shims by 2 thousandths. I called the installer and he has no problem fixing. I'll update you on the progress.

I hear a small amount of whine out of the stock 3.55 gears on my car.

4:10s are the best thing you can do besides getting a supercharger.

I love my 4.10's. The 3.55's the car came with were noisier than the new gears.

My stock 3:55 whines like a mother. Could be from a ton of 4500 rpm launches with M&H's though[8D]

How do you like the M&H's? I have a set of 275/50/17's sitting in the garage waiting to be mounted.

Dammit......another thing to add to the list[:@]........I hate looking at all you happy guys with new parts.....it makes me want to go spend money......I want the f-ing car paid off before I do too much.
