Has anyone switched back to 87 octane tune?

RE: Has anyone switched back to 87 octane tune?
Heh, try living in Cali. Used my 91 octane tune for about 2 months, then switched to the 87 perfomance tune I've got (no 93 in Cali, fyi). Since it's my DD and I can go through 1-2 tanks/week, it adds up fast, and I don't notice a distinct difference between the two
Also, was in San Francisco today - cheapest Premium gas I saw was at 3.889/gallon, andat one station itwas 4.059/gallon. Heck in San Jose @ Costco,87 octane is 3.439/gallon

My 93 tune seems to pull harder in the higher RPM band, maybe above 3k-4k, than the 89 tune. But the 89 tune seems to pull better in the 2k-3k (or a bit above) range. Other than running to red line, my 93 tune didn't suit my driving style like the 89 did. I still load the93 sometimes when I intend to wind it out.
As far as saving money, you guys need to put pencil to paper. Figure out how many gallons a week you typically use and multiply by the DIFFERENCE in the price/gallon. You'll find it's not that much compared to the "loss of wood" (a.k.a. seat-of-the-pants kick). Assuming you use 12 gallons a week and the difference between 87 and 93 octane is $.25, you spend an extra WHOPING$3.00. You probably spend more on cigarettes or soda or whatever your vice is...

Not all of us have garage queens you know.
I put through 1 1/2 - 2 tanks a week and I can see how that will add up fast for some people.
Having said that, when my C&L and tuner get here tomorrowI will be going with 93 for a good long while.
6 tanks at $6 difference is only $36/month extra, not gonna break me.
