RE: idiot salesman
Had a Dealership down here in Arkansas tell me they would sell me a light blue 07 Mustang GT 5spd. The sticker was 28 or 29,000 somthing. And they right off the back marked it up to 33,000. And then they wanted to only give me 4500 for my lincoln navigator and only 3000 in rebates. And some how I was still going to pay around 33,000. They play with numbers to make it look good. I got my car now 08 gt/cs for less than 33,000. And they gave me what I was asking for, for my lincoln.

RE: idiot salesman
If that was the price on the car, that is what they have to sell it at. Usually, the dealers will pencil in the local markup on the sticker price. Is it posible that you missed the fine print?

We're not all that way though.. I hate playing the numbers game myself. the problem with those games is that they aren't dictated by the saleman, its the sales manager that is pulling there puppet strings.. they are just following orders. Salesman in this day and age know nothing anymore and we can blame it on the internet mostly. Today people come in knowing what they want to buy for a vehicle instead of being "sold" one..
lets face it. All of you were asking questions to the salepeople you already knew the answer to right?? thats how you knew the answers they gave you were incorrect.. think about it.

RE: idiot salesman
If you care so much about getting a Gt500 for sticker, which you DO as evidence by this tread.. post in the Shelby forum that you want to buy a Gt500 from one of the dealers who have accounts on the forum. There are several of them that are not here to mark cars up and will sell a GT500 to you at sticker with about a $400 shipping cost as a heads up. It will also have ALL the options you want.

RE: idiot salesman
I agree, the vehicle is suppose to be sold for MSRP. But, that is crap. I know people who have bought cars from dealers for way below MSRP. MSRP is just the suggested sale price. But, some cars like the Ford GT and the Shelby have a higher mark up because they are a more rare car and everyone wants one. If no one paid the prices then dealerships would come down on price. But, we Americans will pay anything for what we want. That is what kills us. Me, I will not pay more than MSRP. I walk out if they try to play me. I am not dumb. LOL.
