Default Want to pay some one a few bucks to make a Saleen Guage Pod My Color

This is a simple effect, the only thing is that the Saleen Guage Pod needs to be backlit white like the dash guages, and comme with a surface button to turn the lights on and off.

It should just run on 12v from the same sources as the guages.

3 pinhole buttons should be used to cycle through the intensities of each RGB. I thought that the ambient lighting option system can be canibalized, in that case only 1 pinhole is needed as it is opperated by 1 button.

Something like this should be really easy for anyone with bassic electronics experience. I thought this would be cool, hopefully it is.

It can be done.
How much you willing to pay for this?
Its simple PIC programming to do this.
But the R&D would be a bear. [:@]

hah, not even, transistor programing would make it work I think, though PIC could streamline things if say the 3 pinhole design would be turned into a 1 pinhole. hmmm...

Finding a good attatchment point for the circuit system and buttons in the Saleen guage pod would take some work if you wanted to make it bulletproof, so yeah, but it wouldn't be the hardest thing to do that.

PM me a price you think is resonable for this and I'll post it, 157db

I would not attempt transistor level logic
for the "cycle thru the intensities" mode.
It would be the PICroad for me if anything.
Let me give it a good thinking over so I dont
get in over my head.

I actually worked as a minor video game programer 4 years back for an aclaimed RPG, a big video game company was headquartered 15 minutes from me and the job was pretty fun.

PIC programing is incredibly weird language, from what I understand there are 2 clock pins, 2 chip power pins, and 11 input output pins, and 3 unused pins.

Here's my take on the program though:

---

The white backlighting feature can be turned on and off with a simple button system, so that's easy, the cycling of colors is the hard part which requires the chip.

So if we define the input as 12v power to LEDs, and then another input being the change colors button, we can define the remaining 9 outputs to 3 banks of 3 LED's.

Each color would then have a program block that would turn those LED's on.

Such as "goto color01", "goto color27"

each color would simply have blocks that state:

input 0 send output to 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 with each of those present or not depending on which leds need to be turned on, then after this it would return to the main program block where it waits for a button press. The button press would cycle the colors.

after the 27th button press you could just have it do a return to the begining.

a surface button would regulate power to and from input, but the chip would still stay charged ready to display the color. The only issue would be remembering the chosen color when the car shuts down.

What do you think?
