Default Anyone remove spare tire?

I know its playing with fire, but it sure would remove a ton of weight from over the wheels. PLUS, I'm on a mission to remove the rattles and buzzes from my exhaust and this seems to be a culprit area.

Considering justhaving a can of fix-a-flat in the trunk instead, and maybe put the spare tire back in for longer road trips.

Open discussion. Love to hear your thoughts and experiences.

I only remove my spare once I'm at the track, along with the fiberboard/carpet floor (and other weight). I don't keep it mounted in the back - only dropped in the well for quick removal.

One of my Mustang club members removed his and had to call me to loan him mine so he could get home to get his. He was 30 miles from home and had to call a tow truck to jack up the car and break the lugs lose. Personally, I keep mine in all of the time even though I have AAA.

Thanks guys. I guess the big question is which would be more beneficial, MORE weight above the rear wheels for traction help or LESS weight above the rear wheels. My guess is less weight is better, especially since I'm a convertible and I already have a little more weight back there than you coupes.

I wonder how effective Fix-a-Flat cans really are? God bless cell phones.
