Hey guys. Not sure if anyone on here has looked into the Nitrogeneration. If you have it close to you. It is cheap. And it is suppose to help improve your gas milage because it does not fluxuate like air does when it is hot and cold. I have it in one of my cars now and love it. And they do top offs for free. People I know are even running it in their crotchrockets now.

I believe the TPMS will alert you if the tire pressure falls to 25% below recommended pressure, which should be 32psi. So it would go off at 24psi. But it seems that you'd notice it withOUT the idiot light! And all the problems the TPMS creates!

I tried filling my tires up the other day and some how they were fine! Still at 35psi since last December!

The only thumbs up I give to N2 is the reduction in variability of pressure. I've had few tires thatever leaked and I'd rather put the $30-$50 they charge to evacuate and fill into my pocket and gas tank. I truly doubt that you'll ever break-even or save $$ from using N2 over the life of the car since the fuel mileage gains are so small. Plus, I don't want to run to the dealer every time I want to top-off or increase pressure. They also report increased tire life but since I blow through tires so fast that's not a factor in my decision, either. Nor is the enhanced ride. I didn't buy the Stang for a luxurious ride.

You can sharpen your turn-in response and dial out a little of the understeer by running slightly higher pressure up front than in the rear. I'd start out with something like 35f / 32r, but feel free to experiment a little. Don't go hugely higher, as you can get to the point where you lose more grip from overinflation reducing the contact patch than you gain from the increased tire lateral stiffness.

As far as nitrogen fills are concerned, not worth paying for, with the possible exception of if you're the owner/operator of an 18-wheeler that goes well past 100,000 miles on a set oftires (perhaps as far as 250,000 miles - I'll have to check with either my son or S-I-L for that) and get one retread on the carcass if it's still good. A waste of money, time and effort on acar tire that you'll wear out in 30,000 miles or so and throw away. There cannot possibly be any ride quality benefit. Nitrogen follows all the same gas laws as compressed air, at best minus some moisture content.

Hmmm...
Air you breath is 70% nitrogen?
Think we have been thru this before....
