Off Road vs Street Exhaust

RE: Off Road vs Street Exhaust
Not sure if anyone has Pm'd you but here is the diff. Offroad mid pipes don't have catalytic converters and therefore are not legal to drive on the streets. You will fail a smog inspection if you have them but they make the car sound twice as loud. If you get on make sure you keep your stock midpipe because they are expensive to replace and you will need them for smog inspections. Install and removal are simple and quick so it is not a big deal to do.

depends where you live, as far as the o/r mid pipe being illegal. where i'm at it is illegal but they have no way of testing it so thats what i got. i like the sound of the o/r bc it is louder, but whether louder is better to you is subjective. if you can get away w/ it go w/ off road.

I love my O/R-H pipe. Here in Florida they don't do annual inspections, if they did 75% OF THE ILLEGAL ALLIENS would fail with their blue smoke blowing POS cars.

O.k.. I live where city folk call the middle of NOWHERE.. lol.. Yes, i'm looking at the Roush exhaust.. I'm trying to decide on the Off Road or Reg.. If i go Off Road, i can get them without the tips and just pick up a pair of tips and have them weld'd on. Stock H pipe will be staying on.. I'm looking at RoushPerformace.com right now.. I'm fixing to pick me up a set.. I just can't decide on which ones would sound better.. Thats my kink right now.. One of my co-workers has Off Road on theirs, but it make a nasty popping sound when they get to a certain RPMs built up.. I don't like that on a car.. Thats whats holding me back on the Off Road.. They said they wouldn'tget Off Roads again, but they had the cats taken off..

I welded a set of 18" resonators about midway in the pipes and that took care of all the popping and kept the good flow all the way through. If you are getting a chambered muffler then no worries on the popping but if you are going with the straight through design you might get popping plus other noises. Good luck with whatever way you go and remember just cuz someone stamped their name all over something doesn't mean it is best.
