no you should be fine for a while, but do it if it makes you feel better.

Synyhetic will not acumulate moisture like regular oil, I would not go past one year though, Lee

Don't see any reason why you couldn't go past 1 year with synthetic...BMW runs synthetic oil in their engines and changes the oil every 7k mi. They have no problem waiting a year and a half or 2 years to do it. My dad has his BMW Z4 that had 1 oil change in 2 years, and the service center said it wasn't a problem because so few miles had been logged on the car.

I'm doing Mobil 1 once a year or after 7k, whichever happens first. No need to change any sooner than that.

I usually do every 5-7k or after 3-5 months, depending on how hard I've been driving and such.

Reminds me I need to remember to log my damn oil changes.. I go about 6-7k miles with redline oil It says like 12k but im not feelin that I drive that thing pretty hard to compensate for 2 missing cylinders. im at 16k miles; i am thinking about doing plugs, coolant, oil and maybe trans fluid change. I can do all the stuff real easy I just have to buy the oil and coolant... So might as well do it..

Preventative maintenance never hurts..

I think you can go longer with no problems. Synthetic oil is a wonder. I use Mobil 1 and I usually put about 5000+ miles on my Mustang and don't worry about the time.

before I got my GT I owned a Z4, along with the GT I have a 528xi and with both cars it was 1 year or 15k miles before oil change.
