Default LAUNCH RPM'S

from a "street" start what do you rev up to prior to lauch?(rpms)

do you turn off the traction control(button) or not..which is better?(considering you are an experienced driver)

i always thought the tcs helped with acceration.....will i get better numbers at the track by turning it off....haven't had the car that long... please advise

thanks

Depends on your tires and the temp outside... I tend to launch around 4500 if I'm actually racing someone... Mess around a bit and see what works for you though...

Turn the TCS off!!!

With that 3.31 gear in yours I'd try much higher RPM's... Like I said mess around a little bit and see what point loss of traction outweighs forward motion...

Thanks about the color btw...

If he drops the clutch though he'll just spin his tires right? So he needs to slip it out.

That may seem to be obvious to some of you but not everyone in these forums has experience driving cars like these.

I'm assuming you're talking about while you're racing someone... Yes you'll get some spin but it's not like you'll sit there and go up in smoke... Especially not with that 3.31 gear... Play around a little though and see what works with your tires and in your climate wherever you are... It varies so much.. Right now I could go dump the clutch at 3500 and go up in smoke cause it's pretty cool here.. In the summer I can go 4000-4500 and not go up in smoke... My advice is to keep pushing the RPM's up a little higher each time you do it and see how it feels...

first time i went to the track tried launching at like 3500-4000 smoked em bad ran like 14.6 or something stupid 2nd run up ran a 13.9@ 102 kinda slipped it out of the hole then layed on it.. 3rd run raced a buddy in a 02 formula trying to be hero's we both smoked the tires and ran like 14.1 14.2.. i might be able to grab a 13.5-6 with her stock. Track opens last week of april up here, i may be modded by then [8D]
