My car is in that issue...page 176I'd have to say they missed some show mods...like louvers, hood scoops, grilles, etc.

I know it's included in the CAI but the K/N filter made a big difference on my car.
I would never thought/guess it would be that much.
This is a cool list, and yes: CAI and tune together are more than 500 beans.
My best less than $500 mod so far has been my mirrors...
That's because it was my own labor[8D].

The factory antenna looks like a$$, that's why I'm having mine shaved with all the other work.
They make intakes for these cars, I have a Saleen intake.
Speaking of which, if you did ALL 10 mods on that list, it'd be $5000 (assuming they were each ~$500 avg), and you still would have as much power as you would if you just spent that $5000 all at once on a single part. Keep that in mind, folks...

Article in May 2008 MM&FF lists top 10 mods under $500 with best bang for buck:
1. Rear Gears
2. Short Throw Shifter
3. Nitrous-Oxide Injection
4. Handheld Tuner
5. Drag Radial Tires
6. 10-Minute Tune-up (timing,belt,thermostat)
7. Exhaust
8. Cold Air Intake
9. Intake Manifold
10. Brake Upgrade
Interesting article. One of the "sources" happens to be the shop that installed my gears in January: Dez Racing.

Installation? You can drive down to Brenspeed and they'll do it for $650.. In one day! And pay for a hotel night for ya! Trust me, it's SO worth it.. I don't know what part of MA you're in, but it was about a 6.5 hour drive for me from Buffalo (WAAAAAAAAAY over in Western NY near the great lakes).. So for you, I'm gonna guess, ~12 hours? I know I can get to the MA line from my house in like ~4.5 or 5...
