Default rear seat sensors?

So I'm installing Damplifier in my trunk and under my back seat last night, and when I pull the back seat there are speaker looking things under each seat with wires running to them.

What are these, sensors for the seat belt? I've never heard the chime go off if my kid forgets his seat belt.

Default RE: rear seat sensors?

They are for the fuel sending units. The car has a saddle type tank (the tank has lobes on each side of the drive shaft) so two pickups and sending units are required. If you spend any time on the track (road course) you'll see you get goofy readings at about a half fuel capacity because one side has more fuel than the other.

Actually the workshop manual states that the system drains one side first and
then the other side during normal operation. Thats why its easier to fill up an empty
tank than a partially full one.
