what grade of oil for a rear differential?
im installing my gears now and want to know if i can use motorcraft rear lubricant oil the the dealership uses? Or should i use a different grade of oil because of the fact thst they racing gears?

motorcraft is always great. I use mobil 1 full synthetic, works also. main thing is ignore it if the oil says it already contains friction modifier - you still need to add your own!!

"Racing gears" or not, unless you are pushing gobs of power to the wheels, the GRADE of oil you use should not change. 75W90 synthetic w/friction modifier. And by gobs, I mean an 8 sec or less 1/4 mile car. The grade of oil is there to protect the gears against the torque produced. But if your not constantly racing, NO street car needs anything more stout than the above description.
