it's not hard to get new key fobs at all. the hard part is the price cause they're expensive as hell.

That's what the stealership tech said. I think he's full of #*&^. Is he?

i think it's several hundred. it's the progamming cost of the key fob that sucks. you lose one it costs a ton just for that small piece.

if you've ever been in a dealership near where they keep all the keys, you'll see a computer there as well where they can program key fobs, etc.

When I had an '00 GP GTP, my key FOB broke, and I was able to find a brand new one on ebay for $25

When I installed my keyless pad, I had to reprogram all the fobs with the code that came with it.
You can also create your own code.

I bought 2 extra key fobs when I bought my car, I now have 4 total, you can program up to 6, I also installed this.

punch in a 5 digit code and your doors unlock, within 3 seconds push the 5/6 button and you trunk unlocks.

No it's not impossible to replace. They aren't even that expensive.

But since you've got a 2008, get a Ford Fusion key. Just have it cut and I'm pretty sure you can program it yourself. The directions are in the manual. Look on Ebay for an uncut key, I just bought one for about $50. The Fusion keys have the FOBs built into them. :D
