Default Beige Convertible Vinyl Top Cleaner

I need input from those who have the beige convertible top. What cleaner do you use and does it do a great job. The lighter color get dirty and need to find a premium product. I have been using the foam Tuff Stuff and can't seem to get some of the imbedded dirt/stains. I also have small specks of tar as well. I don't want to start just using what ever until I get some suggestions. Looking for the vert experts opinions and experience.

Thanks!!

PS. Once it is clean, the top will only go down when the car is clean. I think that is how the top gets dirty in the first place

I know there is alot of products, including Ford's. I just want a few testimonials in order to get the best product. I've wasted so much money over the years buying stuff that sucks and just doesn't work. I appreciate the thought, and kind suggestion.

I`ve had outstanding results with Raggtop on a cloth BMW top, they have a separate product for vinyl. Both are approved by auto companies AND the manufacturers of the tops/material.
Maybe a maven in the detail forum could help you more.

I had a white top convert and used Tide laundry detergent and a soft brush. The top would come out spotless.

What you need is a detergent, not a soap or a cleaner. As someone else posted, stop wasting money, and use Tide laundry or Dawn dishwashing detergent. It's vinyl, not leather, you won't damage anything. Apply it with a wet greenback sponge and don't be afraid to scrub. It'll come out nice!
