RE: horrible MPG since cai/tune
One misconception is that if you stay at low rpms, you automatically get better fuel economy. However, its more about how hard you are pressing on the gas pedal. If you are lightly accelerating and shifting at 3500 rpms, you will get better fuel economy than somone shifting at 2500 rpms, but pushing the pedal mostly to the floor because they aren't in the power band. Driving at low rpms helps, but just make sure you arent punching the gas a lot because that makes a much bigger drop in fuel economy.

I have the C&L Racer intake and Xcal 2 with Brenspeeds tunes also and on my last fill up I got 18.6 miles per gallon. I drive mainly mixed hwy/city. Actually more rural roads then city.
I do have 373 gears and underdrive pulleys tho. I set the cruise at 65 mph.
I feel your pain when you say you can watch your needle move.

I haven' put but 50 miles on my car since the sct/c&l change but I'm still right at 20.5 mpg and thats been just messing around in town with the occasional jaunt to 80 or so. thats exactly what I was getting before but then again my car only has 600 miles on it.

As a shot-in-the-dark, reload your tune and check the settings for your tire's rev per mile and gears. If they set them incorrectlyit could show up as a change in your MPG and speedometer. Your loss in fuel mileage may or may not be "real".

Sounds like all is right with the world to me.

I think you need to contact Brenspeed and tell them also. If you only got 60 miles on half a tank, that would be 60 miles / 7.5 gallons = ~8mpg. That doesn't really seem right if you used to be getting 19 mpg or so and are driving on the same roads.
Also, did you make sure you filled your tank up all the way? This sounds like a stupid question, but maybe the fuel pump shut off before your tank was full; check the TSB on that.

well i did reload the tune but ive also been having a problem with my check engine light coming on. ive had to clear it twice in 2 days now. says o2 sensor 1 blah blah cycle something. i ended up getting 85 miles to the first half of the tank and yes it was full. i mite call brenspeed tuesday "thats my day off". as for the tire rev's per mile i did think about that i need to look more into it altho i did check my axle ration and it doesnt have an option for 3.31's, but i left it stock and thats wut i told brenspeed i had
