Default priced a roush 427 today

went to bill collins ford today to pick up my wifes sport-trac and noticrd a sign saying 7000.00 off an o8 roush dark candy apple red stage 1, the salesman that sold me my 08gt in september was there so i asked him what they would give me for mine on trade in he said about 22,500 ball park without talking to his manager, the roush is 43500 before taxes,i asked about the shelby cobras and he saibd they would not come down at all on those most were 15,000 over invoice, they had a bullitt for 12,500 over invoice. he said they have not sold a shelby in awhile and have aleast 10 in the show room. so what do you guys think am i nuts to trade an 08vapor gt with 4300 miles on an 08 roush. i'm going in tuesday to possibly drive it and get a firm price on mine.

I thought they became 428R's in 2008... And it's a stage 1? doesn't sound right to me..

I was in the dealership today and saw two GT500's @70k and a bubbled wrapped Ford GT. The GT was enclosed in the great big climate controled bubble, on carpet, in an air conditioned room. I thought it was a little over board if you ask me, but it's not my car.

bullitt 12k over sticker, lolololololol. who would buy that. i would never buy a car for over sticker. we had a dealer bring a GT500 down to 1000 over sticker. They were asking 70,000 for it when we started.

I was at the local Ford dealer the other day and they had 2 Bullitts for sale with a $ 5,0000 markup but said they would take MSRP. They were also willing to deal on the Parnelli Boss 302, Roush's, Shelby GT and GT 500's. My gut feeling is that Ford dealers are hurting. Two recently went under here in SF Bay Area. The economy coupled with the cost of gas may have put a damper on "performance" cars. I was surprised the dealer had so many of the collector Mustangs for sale. I would definitely drive a hard bargain on any of these cars if really in the market for one. I also noticed the Chevy dealers are now offering discounts on the ZO6 which was unheard of last year.

I received a call this evening from the dealership where I purchased my car last September and they said they were interested in buying it back. They mentioned 0% financing on 08's plus rebates of $4,000. It's probably a load of crap to get people in, but the curiosity is killing me. Think I'll head over tomorrow morning and get more details. I like screwing with salesmen!

$43,500 for a 427R? So you'd be giving up your stang and adding $20K on top of it for.... another stang..... For an overpriced designer brand to be exact. Buying a Roush is no different than a high school girl buying a $300 pursebefore she buys a$13 coffee.

Keep your GT, and do insane things with that $20K, or just $10K. Stomp all over a 427R when you see it on the street.
