Two key/fobs came withthe car. I took the key off the extra fob, put the fob in the console... samething as a trunk release when my"key" is in the house.

A search first would have prevented reinventing the wheel. Even the kit from AM has you install it inside the glove box and includes the proper wiring. Regardless, good initiative.

This might sound like a stupid or silly question, but how come Ford never put in a trunk release button (aside from the key fob)?

Ford did....its in the 2010 models LOL!

lol, took em 5 years to figure that one out huh? When I was looking at my first mustang ('09) my dad and I were trying to figure out where the trunk release was in the cabin. Later when I went to look at another with my brother in law, he didn't believe me when I told him there was no interior trunk release lol. He kept looking all over.
