Default 11's with stock GT and $2300 in mods

Was flipping through MM&FF (Muslce Mustangs and Fast Fords) April issue while waiting for my oil change. To give you an idea of how restrictive the factory computer is on the 05 Mustangs, MM&FF used a new GT and put in performance exhaust and a K&N intake. No Change at all because of the throttle by wire system.

Then, they went in with I think it was SCT Xcalibrator software, retuned the computer, removed the emmision restrictor, put in 3.55/3.53 rear end (I think) and left everything else stock and got into the mid-low 11's. In all they did 6 things.

Computer Tune
Exhaust (Catback system)
Intake
Removed Restrictor
Steeda Underdrive Pulleys
Gears
Dynoed

That's not even getting into Headers or intake manifolds, SC, or anything really heavy. In all the total bill was $2300 or so. Very cheap in my opinion to shave off a couple of seconds on an otherwise stock GT.

Actually, the best run was 12.45 @ 107.92. I have the article here. The list as shown in the mag:

SCT computer tune-up
MagnaFlow mufflers & stainless steel tips
Steeda underdrive pulleys
QA1 rear shocks
FRPP 4.30 gears
MT E/T street tires (26x11.5)

Installed cost = $2,430.

The 05 Mustang GT comes stock with 3.55's unless it's an auto, then it comes with 3.23's. It woud never run in the 11's with gears like that. I think they must have been using at least 4.11 or a 4.30 gear. It's still very impressive considering the engine iteslf is stock though.
I read an articel somewhere (don't remember where I saw it) where I think is was JPC Racing got an 05 Mustand to run an 11.99 with a similar setup. They used an aluminum flywheel, catback exhaust, CAI, carbon trap removed, computer retune and slicks. The motor itself was completely stock.

Note above... they used FRPP 4.30 gears.
