3.8 mustang...?

3.8 mustang...?
ok so i never fully grasped the fact that "most" people on this forum are fairly smart when it comes to the s197. I was just looking at another forum trying to get some info on my wife's 3.8 vert. I'll never do that again... I know that there are alot of the older mustangs out there but are all the drivers out there really that dumb? example: brake duct cooling for a street 3.8 mustang, or spolier adds more HP? my god.... thank you all for putting up with my little rant and for being smart.
i already posted a question in the 6 cyl area and havn't gotten any replies. so maybe some one has stummbled into some info that could share it with me here...
(2001 Convertible Auto 3.8). it has 75K miles on it and needs some things done to it. The car is a DD and i don't want top of the line stuff. Just replacment parts or a little better. isn't going to be racing at all. The car is almost stock except for a CAI/rotors/brakes/redtop battery.
1. What shocks to buy?
2. What springs to buy?
3. What else should i do to the car with that much mileage on it?
(just replaced the fuel filter, plugs, wires, flushed the brake lines, flushed the power steering fluid.)
on my list of stuff to do is:
1. automatic tranny fluid flush and filter
2. coolant flush
3. replace all hoses
4. springs/struts
any help on places to buy parts (good deals) or any other general info that i needtoknow or do to the car would be great.

[ol][*]I wouldn't get too concerned about shocks since it sounds like the car is for transportation only at this point. Anything but Monroe's![*]Same as #1, probably look for OEM replacements.[*]75k is NOT a lot of mileage for most cars. I've yet to keep a car with less than 178,000 miles and most well over 200,000 miles. Just follow your maintenance schedule in the Owners Manual.[/ol]
The internet can't be beat for finding replacement parts and the best prices if you're willing to let your fingers do the walkin'.

As far as 75k miles, I traded in mine at 140k and it still ran great. Ask your mechanic (or a shop you trust) for advice on parts. If you are doing the work yourself, just get 'em at the parts counter at your dealership.
And BTW, I had a 1995 3.8 V6 and the rear brake duct cooling was functional. Cant say it added any HP, but I always thought it was a nice touce. In 1996, the bean counters convinced Ford that they could save $.32 per unit by making them fake. They did the same with the hood scoops.
