they should edge us out by a bit. CAI/TUNE we would then have a slight edge on them.

Unless this cai/tune nets you more than 30rwhp, I think a cai/tune will make it a drivers race advantage mach 1. Check the 1/4 times and you'll understand. Average (manual transmission times)Mach 1 runs 13.3's-13.4's. Average S197 GT runs 13.7's-13.8's. If people think otherwise from personal experience, they have either driven againstreally bad/really good drivers in the other car or they are a reallygood/really bad driver.

Totally Stock down to tires a mach 1 weighsless and puts out ~30 more hp and torque.

How do you figure 30 more hp? a s197 gt is rated 300hp, a mach 1 is rated 305 hp. I have a mach and love it, but the hp is not that much different. The mach was probably slightly under rated but not much. With weld in mufflers and a k&n drop in my car put down 293/301

Were you the guy who told me I'd see no gains from an SLP loudmouth cat-back? And yes, mach's are that underrated. Look at dyno sheets, people who know the cars estimates and they all say it's between 325-335bhp and 345-360btorque. I didn't make those numbers up, people who ran tests on these cars did.Yes theHPdifferent is that muchbetween the 2. Mufflers don't make that much of a difference in the hp departmentunless they're straight-thru (magnaflow, SLP loudmouths, etc.). K&N drop-ins I've heard don't dyno more than 2-4rwhp gains tops. So assuming you have chambered mufflers and a K&N, stock you would probably put down 286-290rwhpand the average manual S197 GT with 15% drivetrain loss puts down 255rwhp. See the difference? And to convert yourhp #'s assuming your a manual transmission car 286/85%(15% drivetrain loss) X's 100=335.XXXbhp. Thanks for giving me numbers to prove my point
