Default thinking about trufiber 2in cowl

well i was at ford today asking about the paint blistering on the hood and its gonna be covered under warranty. just for kicks i asked "what if i bring in an aftermarket hood to get painted instead?" i got a call about an hour later saying that they could paint it for free BUT they would do it for only $224! i think its too good of a deal to pass up as opposed to 5-600 to get it painted any other time......so as of now the fr500s i have sitting in my room are going to remain tireless lol.

so how has everyones experiences been with trufiber products?

this is the hood im looking at....

Remember the hood is going to need to be prepped for painting. I hope they have included that in their estimate. I don't know about Truefiber's quality of hoods either. I know Steeda hoods are supposed to be one of the best out for our cars and they have a 2" cowl.

i forget his words exactly but since theyd have to strip, prep, and repaint the original hood plus replace my stripes theyyre only gonna charge me for a portion of the complete painting process for the aftermarket hood...

Alright, I'm not sure if your Ford dealer has ever preped an aftermarket hood. It's not the same thing as a factory hood, it's quite a bit of work depending on who made the hood ...

they have...they have a few stangs up there that they customized, including a ram air hood and such. plus i had my chin spoiler painted up there and the painter commented on how good the cdc prep was compared to other aftermarket companies that sell "ready to paint versions"

im ordering a trufiber hood tomorrow...some people have no problems with their hoods, others do. I will be ordering mine from Hardcore Mustangs. I have full faith in them and my body shop. I'll have some pictures towards the end of april

Good choice. Ernie will take care of you. And I too would jump on the awsome deal.
