05 Mustang GT Buying. Help!!

RE: 05 Mustang GT Buying. Help!!
I just bought my '06 Mustang GT from a Honda used car stealership. They were asking $17,998 for it. I offered them $13,500 for it because it had 96,000 miles (mostly highway). They swore they could only come down to $14,000 and even at that they would be losing $500. Well, they offered to let me keep the car overnight and drive it the next day. I flat out walked away and said $13,500 or no deal. I also pointed out it would be hard for them to finance the car because it was high mileage and I was prepared to give them cash. Well, the used car manager swore he could only go $14,000.
Well, guess who called me the next day?! It was the stealership and the sales guy stated he had been pestering the used car manager and that he got the price down to $13,700 for me. I said nope, I would only give $13,500. 10 minutes after I hung up they called me again sounding beat-down and told me to get over there andbuy it for $13,500. So I did.

RE: 05 Mustang GT Buying. Help!!
I had over 60k miles on my last mustang before I traded it.
It was a '98 GT I bought it new for 23k (back then that was a decent deal and a lot of money). I managed to get 9500 bucks for it on a trade inafter nearly 5 years.
Seems like Mustangs are keeping their value about the same, maybe slightly better.

As much as I like my car, I don't think I would want it with 96,000 miles. Good luck.

RE: 05 Mustang GT Buying. Help!!
When I KBB my friend's GT he was trying to sell, it said $20K for trade and $22K for private. Of course, he couldn't get that...he sold his 2005 Silver GT Coupe Premium for $16K. I see tons of used GTs for less than $20K! But that's in CA...
