Default How to deal with a Dealer?

Hey everyone, I am new to mustang forums and new to owning a mustang. I just purchased an 07 GT with 6000 miles on it. So far I have loved it even though I have only driven it for two weeks. Well, even though I have already come up on a problem. Just the other day my clutch started to feel stiff and rough. It got worse and worse until it eventually locked me out of the gears and would not engage. I then had it towed to Power Ford in North Scottsdale. There they told me the clutch needed replacing and they would not cover it under warrenty and were gonna charge me $1200 for parts and labor. I am new to mustangs but not to cars and know this is not right. I was wondering if someone could give me some advice because I do not plan on buying new clutches every 6000 miles. I haven't had the chance to race it...yet, but still it should not have given out considering the last owner was an older gentleman whom bought it for his wife. Please help me figure out how to deal with them because that $1200 is my money for my exhaust and CIA.

If you had 600 miles vs 6000, I'd say you have a case. Far as I know, the clutch is never covered in a standard bumper to bumper warranty. Sorry.

That's what I thought. Does that price seem really high for a new clutch?

The local dealer quoted me $850 for a clutch. That was for a 96 Cobra however.

clutch is covered for 12/12. It can be covered under the 3/36 if another problem resulted in a clutch failure.

Ummmm
You do have a 12 month limited warranty no questions asked on your clutch...

If thats the case why did they deny it? The supervisor I spoke with said Ford would not cover it because it looked like it was from hard driving. I don't know about you guys but the dealership treated me with very little respect (I'm only eighteen). I'm starting to really not like dealing with them.
