when cutting the stock antenna, does the ball on the top just pull off?

You have to knock the ball off. Clamp the antenna and use something with a "V" I used a superbar and a hammer, but you could use the claw of one hammer and use another to knock it off. Just watch where it goes! [sm=nerd.gif] Then cut the antenna to desired length, taper the new end, and reattach ball with superglue. If needed, touch up with black paint or marker. There ya go free mod.[sm=happy046.gif]

Has anyone accidentally washed their car with it off and put the antenna back in the hole with water in it? I did after taking it through a drive through car wash (I live in Germany its illegal to wash the car anywhere besides a car wash), and have theirs rust inside?

Cut the stock one down it's way too easy to do and only takes about 15 min from start to finish. Use the money you save for gas.
