From all the people that have brenspeeds and had them install them they did tuning. And when i talked to Brenspeed they said the same basically. Any cam change will require tuning. Now brenspeed might be able to just email you there tune, i am almost sure this is correct. I would be taking it up there since its only 3 hrs tops for me.
if only they weren't in Indiana...........I'm still waiting for a quote from Houston Performance. I got a quote from PSI in San Antonio, $1300 installed...however I'm pretty sure this doesn't include a tune.

If it were a pushrod motor, I'd probably do the install myself, no special tools required. With the cost of the cams plus the tools...I'm not sure I'd come out doing the installation myself.

Speaking of questions, are those Sumitomo tires in your sig? Pros? Cons? T.I.A.

Man I'm bad with my PM box...
I'm so sorry 99flhr.

They're Sumitomos, and the only cons are that I don't have a lot of rubber left on them![8D]
Wonder if my wife isn't putting this thing sideways at times.

I'll say they're good tires and stick pretty good... They have 25K miles in them and they won't go more than 5K more miles.
When I first got the wheel combo, I was affraid of them being weak but I'm happy with them.

Don't take my experience a accurate reading since I put those wheels the first week from owning the car, so I have nothing to compare them to, and I went from 16s" to 20s".

From my experience with S197s and cams...spend the extra cash and get the top of the line stuff. I had BBR cams installed about 1.5 years ago and they were def. not worth the money. I should have stuck with my original plan and got the Comp cams but the guy at BBR said I could save a lil dough and get their brand and it would all be the same...LIAR.

Now I have to buy the new cams and get them installed plus tuned again????

It won't be the first time people lied about their product...
It's tough when something is kinda new and you don't have reference points[8D].

Its not too much of a difference. Probably not worth it for the $$$. Any time a cam can use stock springs and no tune means its not making enough of a difference to need that much more gas or timing. That tells you enough right there.

Generally speaking, anoticeable impactcam change will drop mileage 3-4mpg.

Yes, you'll notice the drop in mileage. Thats what cams do.
1. If it`s 25hp for $700 then it`s completely equal to the vaunted CAI/tune.

2. UnlessYOU haveadded NSRcams, the jury is still out on the MPG.

Anybody with actual experience?
No, the jury is not still out. If a cam is designed to improve over the stock cams, then the flat out nature of the beast is that it will drop MPG. Unless they found a magical cam that doesn't affect MPG, but somehow gives longer durations and lopey idles, then every car company in the world would be slapping them into their sports cars. So no, Im not saying NSR cams will drop MPG no matter what, what I am saying is that if the cams do anything better than stock, then they'll drop MPG. If they have no benefits, then sure, maybe they won't drop MPG then either.

You take the bad with the good when it comes to cams. If there is no good, then dont worry, theres probably no bad either.

And 25rwhp? Sure, with stage 2 cams and a dyno tune. But companies inflate their numbers, and they state crank numbers to top it off. Expect 8 peak HP, and a nice idle, and less MPG, from a NSR lightly modified cam.
