What's your favorite/least favorite exhaust set up?

RE: What's your favorite/least favorite exhaust set up?
Actually the MAC's have a much DEEPER tone than the Bassani. More like the 2V's with flows. Those Bassani sound a bit deeper than the JBA's at idle and throttle but the MAC's ROAR.
I'd deal with the tradeoff for the Bassani's though. You made a great choice. I don't think any chambered muffler will ever sound good through all rpm ranges on these cars.

How are the Mac's compared to the Borla Stingers Cat-Back? I am liking the sound of both very much, especially that youtbube vid of the full Mac exhaust setup. If I do that does it void the warranty? Also the difference between Cat-Back and Axel-Back please, I know cat back but need some clarification. As well as the difference between the FRPP Borla Stingers and the Borla Stingers besides the 3.5/4in tips difference.
Thanks!

I'm going to take my vid recorder today and try to get a recording of the "trumpet" noise that no one seems to know about. You can get a deep, great sounding car at idle and part throttle but around 2k rpms this other sound kicks in. I'll get a vid today of it.

Internet vids don't really do any justice for the sound anyway. When we (my G/f and I) picked my car up fromt he alginment shop on Friday, I let her drive the car home (bad area) and I followed in the work truck. I had the window rolled down..............PHUCKING BADA$$! I actaully amazed at how loud the idle is. THen she took off and I could feel the ground under the truck vibrating. It also seems like it's a little louder now that the car is lowered.

You did a great job with the Bassani's no doubt. Those will be my next exhaust. I'll get some vids of the "trumpeting" noise that chambered muffs cause today.

Straight through mufflers don't have the same issues that chambered ones have. And it has a lot to do with the location too. I'm giving up on finding the deep rumble that 2V's had without welding in some midpipe located mufflers.

I've heard of someone welding in magnaflow "resonators" in the mid-pipe that killed the trumpeting when running an off-road pipe. If you don't have longtube headers or an off-road pipe (sans cats) you probably don't need to worry about it. It will sound good with the MAC's. If you like the way they sound, get them! I did. Charging up my camera now. I'll post later today on the sound I'm talking about.
