THOSE WITH PAINTED CDC CLASSIC CHIN...COME ON IN
If you have a painted cdc classic painted chin spoiler...how many problems do you have with scratches/stone chips? I have the chin spoiler and have it at the paint shop but the painter said i may want to keep it unpainted so that i wouldnt have this problem. What do you guys think? I have a blacktop driveway and wont be taking the car into stones but i know there are little stones/asphalt chips on roads. What is your experience and would you get it painted or not?

Sounds like pretty good advice.
An example: Yesterday I pulled up to an ~3-inch parking block and ended-up pushing the spoiler in about 4 to 5 inches. Now it has an even larger scrape at the front but with bright yellow paint. What I didn't consider was that the lot was down sloped a little to the parking block.[:@]
This thing is going to take a beating and I'll end-up replacing it sometime in the future.[>:] But they do look a lot better when painted, IMO.

I have not had any issues with chipping yet, but with that said Its not my daily driver so I can be selective when/where I drive it. I picked up the car in Dec 05 and only have 9000 miles on it to date.

I have the Cervini's Type II on my car (looks damn near identical to CDC Classic), and I had a LOT of stone chips in mine from last season. The guy that just paitned it for me said it looked like the last shop didn't prep it correctly.
I'll let you know in October how I did with it.

Paint it, looks so much better, only scratch was from a parking block and its on the under side, not even noticeable. I live In Arizona so rock chips are a given however my chin spoiler has had barely any at all and its been on for a good 6 months I think.

i have no problem with mine.. no chips or anything from the road.. and roads here in NY arn't the greatest but the only thing is u have to consider it everytime u park to park extra far from the curb if ur facing in or back in to a spot because pulling in forward to a parking stop or curb will eff it up but i have not had any problems

Check your local window tint shops - they sometimes will also do clear bra. Or check xpel.com for a local installer. You can buy the film in bulk on ebay, but the install is a PITA, so it's best to let someone else do it. My local guy charged me $40 for the chin spoiler clear bra install. The film itself costs me $40 on ebay (tint guy wanted $60).
