You would think that GoodYear or Firestone would be smart enough to make some branded RWL tires for our cars... I'm thinking mustang guys would buy the crap out of them JUST for the look!

There may be money to be made, but molds alone for a single tire would cost nearly $60,000. That would not include any development. Tires are not just rubber poured into a mold, they are several parts that must be very accurately designed. White wall and black wall tires, even of the same size are not exactly the same thing. There can be major differences in the same size tire in black and white. We do not all run the same size tire either. So these costs could be multiplied by10 to 12 sizes easily.

In shortI believe the costs would out weigh the profit. Not saying you won't see them. Tire makers are always looking to capitilize on a new corner of themarket theycan be known for.

Looks great! But yeah, in a few weeks, or sooner, it will be yellow and dirty and gross. It sucks, I wish it lasted longer or I'd be all over that.

You did a killer job

Very true...But who knows, maybe we'll start seeing a rebirth of RWL for tires in the next few years, with the retro muscle coming back. I for one would love to see RWL on the S197 Mustang, or the Camaro, or the Challenger...Even the Charger would look good with RWL. Who knows? Maybe if we start sending petitions to the companies & showing interest, they might start making them?
