Hooker Aerochambers installed, not sure if I like or not.
So I put on a set of Hookers last night (Not those kind )
I'm stock with everything but the hookers, they sound nice, they are quite deep and bassy but the do drone, I can't say how bad they are since I have nothing to compare them to, but when you are in 5th (auto) and climb a hill with out dropping a gear they get pretty noisy. It's from about 1700-1900, which is right at about 55.
What I'm afraid of is they are all noise on the inside and still quite quiet on the outside. I can deal with some drone if it's made up for outside sound but if not, what's the point. I'll have to have someone drive my car and find out.
They do sound great at a cold start, wish they could always sound like that. Also they are a semi-straight though design. you can look in and see light from the other side so it seems that are a hybrid of chambered and straight though.
So I'm left to this if I like them I could get an x-pipe and wake them up and hope it doesn't get raspy since they are a striaghtish design or i might replace them with boomtubes and leave the stock H since from what I heard the straight pipes don't drone and I have to say it sounded pretty damn good with no mufflers.
So let me know your thoughts, will an xpipe kill some of the drone and wake them up? It has to be catted though.
