To the OP...

YOU DON'T USE AN IMPACT GUN WHEN REMOVING EXHAUST MANIFOLD BOLTS!!

It's still not your fault but it sounds like only amateurs haveworked on this car so far, including the shop your friend works at.

It's not always easy to remove them, but the impact is a nono. A break-a-bar is more like it, that way, you can gauge when to stop before breaking.

Good luck with that mess now.
yep!

That's the biggest reason I won't get an offroad pipe. Since I have to pass inspection every year, I don't want to be messing with those manifold bolts to switch in and out my catted H-pipe.

I would like some shorty headers though, so I'm a little envious of you.

Well what I didnt say was a breaker bar was used at first to take out the driver side. For what ever reason they use the impact on the passenger side...I dont know why. But I was watching as soon as he put that baby on , wham it was gone. A breaker bar looks like it would have done the same thing. It way over tighten the last time it was installed and they probably new they did it cause you know when your going to snap a bolt. I know a lot of it was me swapping pipes all the time, too damn picky. I do most of my work, I just cant get the car up high enough to do the mid pipes, so I was bringing it to the shops. Oh well whats done is done. It was ready at 8 pm last night, so I told him I would meet him this morning. Ill get it home, clean it all up, and bring out the camera for some vids. I was going to over night some Mac headers, but just got the Ceramic FRPP headers instead. Ford had them in stock and I just wanted to get it done. They dont look that hot, but Im not going to have it at any car shows, and as of the install, they are covered by the shops warranty. So any issues with these isnt coming out of my pocket. So later today, you guys can listen to the sound of FRPP headers, Mac Prochamber with Mac Axle Backs.
