Default Question about dealerships repair times...

Okay, this isn't a Ford problem, but rather a problem with my Audi. I was told the repair that needs to be made is a 6 hour job per the ALL DATA whatever. But it's been nearly 3 days now and they are barely half way through. Now I never take my cars to dealerships to get fixed, but I am on vacation and the car threw a code. I am coming near the end where I need the car to drive back home...

So I guess my question is... This 6 hour estimate, shouldn't it have been done in 1 day and at $100 an hour labor Im getting kinda of ticked? Or is it normal for them to put a car in the air and leave it for days on end?

I know this is general and not all dealerships are the same, but is this a common practice?

It's not normal but it does happen. Since you have been gone, others have gotten bumped up. They will still only charge you for the 6 hours posted time for the repair unless they find that something else was wrong. I'd get ahold of them and start making demands. The sqeeky wheel gets the grease.

Yeah I have called 2-3 times a day. I've explained the problem. I am in Phoenix 2000 miles from Florida where I need to be. I need the car to drive back. I'm in the military and have to be back to work on the 9th. Minus the 2-3 days driving, and tomorrow is crunch time.

I was waiting for the morning rush hour to die down and then I was going to go in rather than another stupid phone call.

Get them to commit to a time the work will be done, like yesterday, then hold them to it. They have you over a barrel for sure.
