Default Looking for a GT500 hood, options?

I'm looking into a GT500 hood, I want the hood because of the vents, but don't want fiberglass hood.

I know that the hood has as curve in the front that makes a GT500 front fascia needed, but those that made the switch, may be there a work around on this?

I just want an alloy vented hood, and not spend a fortune.

Thanks.

I'm not certain, but i've head that the GT500 hood won't fit on a GT, but a GT hood will fit on a GT500

thought about a GT-H hood?

Yes but, 1) is fiberglass and 2) the vents don't work.

That's why I was thinking on the GT500 one, but was looking for an option on not doing the whole fascia.

Impossible to get around the GT500 Hood/GT bumper option. Pillars next to the headlights do not slope in far enough and the hood will not close.

As far as I know there are no metal vented hoods except OEM GT500. In fact the only aftermarket metal hood is the Foose one from CDC I believe.

personally the GT500 SUPER SNAKE hood looks killer. It IS slightly different than the KR hood. I was told it's carbon fiber! with functional hood scoop and heat sink vents. Downside, $1200 unpainted...but you can pick it up by calling shelby performance parts!

The Foose hood is aluminum and I think you're right, no other aftermarket is producinganother variant from fiberglass or carbon fiber.

Here's the hood for a GT but it's made of fiberglass.

If you're interested in the venom clone for the GT fasica, you can find it on ebay item #330205805661. This will fit the GT fasica without any alterations. It is fiberglass and around $750 unpainted. I don't think there is any way around the whole fiberglass thing. But I've seen the quality, and it is a very smooth hood. The guy's name is Mike and he's a very nice guy. Tell him Frank from Jersey recommended him. If you'd like, PM me and i'll give you his cell number.

That actually doesn't look too bad. The lines don't line up though at the grille area. Need to lose the washer nozzels too
