Mine won't "smoke" the tires but it will leave about 15-20 feet of black marks. Not rich marks, but you can see them easily enough.

Hello guy's......I have a 2007 GT AUTO, and when it was stock, Anytime I mashed the gas hard, it would not smoke the tires, but it would leave 10-15 feet of tire marks. Especially if the road is wet. It all depends on howgrippy your tires are too, cause when i did get my Falken 452's tires, it was harder for burnout's to be accomplished. But now I got a CAI, UDP's, and Exhaust which makes it even worst, I always have to be light on gas when im at astop light, else I'll pull off like a dragster. Some cars come with a little more power than others fromfactoryI guess. I dont think they are all accurately tuned....

my car used to leave some tire marks when it was stock, nothing special though. Then it left more with the cai and tune. I chirped third with the race tune. Now I have a lot of suspension work so I hook immediately, no tire marks and i don't slide out to the left anymore either. I hook and go

+1 I don't get the whole point of roasting (wasting) your tires. It's fun once or twice to get it out of your system, but like you said, I'd rather "Hook and Go" vs Sit-n-Spin

Besides if someone else is that interested in a show of speed from your GT, just line it up at the track and lay down the smack down.

I agree. Mine is stock for now and when I stomp on the gas from a stop, it will not really spin the tires (and TCS is off). Prob has something to do with the throttle by wire and the lag when you step on it. As I have heard, and will hopefully experience soon, a CAI and tune will take care of that for you.

If you really want to smoke em,
1) tcs off
2) hold your foot on the brake, and at the same time nail the gas pedal. Only put enough pressure to hold the car back.

even better rev it up to 5 grand in nuetral and drop it into drive that always worked with my mini van.
