Bama race or custom tune?

Bama race or custom tune?
I've been wanting to get a new tune and have been reading the praises of the Bama 93 Race tune. I have a predator so my choices for canned tunes are somewhat limited. Then, one of the guys at a local meet told me about a shop in Brooklyn that will do a custom tune for $150. I gave them a call and they said they can use the predator and usually can get the tune done in about an hour, maybe a little more.
I don't have any experience with custom tunes. I can get 3 tunes from Doug for about the same price. I don't know if the custom tune will be better. I don't have too many mods. The only mod that I have that requires a tuine is the C&L.
Those of you with a cutom tune or the Bama race tune, can you give your opinions please.

Yeah definately get the BAMA tune. If the only mod you have is a C&L you'll be wasting your money to get a dyno tune just for that. From what I understand, Doug writes his tunes based off of actual cars that he dynoed with specific mods, meaning he'll use the same parameters from a test car with the same mods as yours. I'm sure that's just part of it. He knows what he's doing.
If you call you BAMA he'll happilly explain anything you want to know. But it is easier to get him on the phone than through email.

If all you have done is an intake, go with a Bamachips tune. You'll save $100. If you were to get LT headers, cam, FI, nitrous; then I'd recommend going with a dyno tune.

On bolt on items where the change is predictable go with Bama. But with Nitrous, FI and cam swaps, you can get funky blips addressed with a dyno that the generic tune won't be able to see/predict/address.
