I drop mine from 20 inches or so. Works everytime.

The latch is adjustable to some extent as I remember, the Afixer adjusted my latch works great.................its tight to get at, but if you can move it up a bit, your hood will close alot better!!!

I have to push mine down.. it is a bitch to close..dropping, slamming just dont work.

Duh! I forgot I had hood struts. That's why it won't close from 12 inches. My wifes chrysler 300 has hood struts from the factory and it will shut from 1 inch.

Dropping from 12" also doesn't work too well if you have hood struts instead of a prop rod.. I actually have to slam mine to get it to close..

I drop mine from about 8-12 inches. I was told by a salesmen that a few Mustangs were coming back with spider cracks in the paint and it was from pushing it closed.
