$15 Catch Can project...and MAFia talk

RE: $15 Catch Can project
Dex, cool stuff. My N/A car catches a lot of oil. Its pretty clear it depends on driving style. People who stay in gear while slowing down, or switch to a lower gear, will suck in much much more oil than those that go into neutrel as they cost to a stop.
Ever since I installed mine I intentionally stay in gear as Im slowing down... Try to suck more oil out, prevent more sludge.
Anyways, our oil seperators still let some oil by. They just aren't designed for this. Both of our kobalts as well as home depot's husky let oil still get by. I figure we're cutting it down by about 75%-80%, so the small amount still getting through is nothing at all.
And one last thing.... It looks like you removed the middle part of the filter, inside the bowl, yes? I heard removing this helps filter more oil, true? I removed mine and it seemed like it was filtering less oil. Did you remove yours?

RE: $15 Catch Can project
Looks great and clean Dex but I think I will go with the expensive Stef catch can as it is bigger and many say after 600 miles those should be emptied? JMO J

ORIGINAL: Dex
hmmm, not sure what the stock MAF pegs out at HP wise. I would get an HPX instead of a MAFia because the HPX costs a little more but its more usuable later on.
You going to use your stock block or buy a block?

RE: $15 Catch Can project
You dont need one from that side. How I understand the PCV system to work the air is going from the TB to the crankcase of the passenger side, and from the crankcase to the intake on the drivers. Only need to "catch" the oil on that side. Save the $15 for beer
