Default What do you guys think about the roush hood scoop on the GT?

I have a stock 05 Torch red GT and i'm thinking of adding the roush hood scoop, i have a line on a brand new one for about $200 bucks paintedwhich i think is a pretty good deal. What do you guys think of them even though they are fake? Has anyone ever had any experience with installing them? I want to do it myself. I was looking and it looks like they are bolt on, (i was hoping they would just be on with 3M tape), how many holes do you have to drill?, and how do you take off the thick liner that is attached to the underneath of your hood in order to bolt down the scoop? For the people that bought them would you buy them again? Any if anyone has a Torch Red stang with this scoop on it feel free toshow it Thanks, Jordan

i have it on mine, and i fvcking hate it.

i like the styling of it, but it's cheap *** plastic that gets dimples in it from flexing... the front of it lifts when I'm on the interstate.

fixing to replace the hood soon. [&:]

I have it on my car, paid 170 from jegs... last year

mine used to come up on the interstate at about 90mph until i installed it correctly..(just tightened the screws alittle more) just use the screws and the tape and it wont come up. I have no dimples or flaws in mine at all with 15000 miles on it

That's a good price. The styling of the Roush scoop is nice, but it looks a lot better if you also have the louvers and spoiler. I don't have experience with it, though, so I don't know how good it is. From what SonicBlue05GT says it doesn't sound like the quality is that great.

I do have the GT hood scoop, though, and I love it. It's drilled into the hood, though, and has no tape. I had it removed when I got my racing stripes installed. But I've never had any trouble with it whatsoever. It's held up well in the sixteen or so months that it's been on my car. No dimples, dents, or scratches. The only thing I don't like about it is that it retains a bit of water when I wash my car, and after I dry the car water tends to run down from both sides of it for awhile. It happens with the louvers, too. Just the nature of the beast I guess. In general you can get the GT scoop cheaper than the Roush.

You still have a great looking car. I think I like Sonic Blue better than Vista Blue. It's more hip, IMO.

i'm fixing to get either the Cervini 68-style hood or the Legend hood.. both are pretty similar.
