Default RE: Installed stealth bulbs in clear corners

ORIGINAL: Burnsy

i bought smoked corners and stealth bulbs, put them in, and was teribly disapointed.

All you could see was the filament glowing, it did not make the face of the lens amber whatsoever... This looked really dangerous and illegal to me... If any car was next to me looking down at my turn signal, it would look like there was no turn signal on... As long as you were above the lense you couldn't see anythig.. So it took em out and returned em... It's a shame though, because when they were off it made the front end look sooo much better. All well. [&:]
You sure they were the actual smoked units? If you got the ones with the black housing/clear lens, those aren't smoked. The black housing on those things has little to no reflectivity. If you have a set of the true smoked units (chrome housing, smoked lens), they'll light up nice and bright. Here are a few pics of mine with chrome/amber 3157's and amber LED 194's (50% tint film applied), as well as pics of the new rear side markers I just put on (clear lens, 50% tint film applied, red hi-power LED):
