I am working to develop a fender emblem for the 2005+ Mustang GT. I really do not like the "GT" emblem that came on my car nor do I want to pay $400+ for the plastic "Powered by Ford" emblems that come on the Shelby GT. There really aren't a lot of options out there and nothing that uses the guide pins on the GT emblem. So I thought I would design something new and see if anyone else would be interested in them.

Here isa rough design of what I want to do. The emblems will be made of aluminum and have the guide pins on the back for perfect alignment. They will be shaped the same as the Shelby GT's "Powered by Ford" emblems and painted the same colors with automotive acrylic paint. The finish will be polished (the "V8" will be raised polished aluminum and curved with the emblem) and should look better than the "Powered by Ford" plastic emblems. They will be the same size as the GT emblem which will be shorter than the "Powered by Ford" - estimated size of this emblem is 1.5" x 4.75".

I am working with a neighbor of mine to produce them. He works with titanium, platinum, and aluminum on a daily basis and said that these emblems would come out perfect. The problem with using this equipment is that the first emblem is very expensive. If he could produce a batch of them, the cost would come down to reasonable levels.

So what do you think? I do not have any pricing yet as he is working up the job.

Instead of the V8, what about putting the GT in there or 4.6L

I like the current GT emblem it is so much better than the older GT emblems.
That v-8 emblem looks a little boring

I thought about putting 4.6L in there, but so many in this forum have the "small engine complex" when they pull up next to a 6.0L GTO or Chevy. I happen to like the 4.6L motor in our cars, but I hear so much complaining about the size. I thought that the V8 would state the obvious.

BTW, Ford could have done a lot better than the "GT" that comes on the car.

To be honest I really dont like it but at least you are trying to come up withe something new. I really wish Shelby would release the "Powered by Ford" emblems. I am not a big fan of the Scott Drake ones.

I really like the GT that comes on the car. Even if I didn't it's not something I'm going to worry about or spend time and money on.

Sorry to hijack but, anybody know of S197"V-8"fender emblems in the old Ford script where the 8 is overlayed on top of the V?
It was used in 30`s & 40`s on hubcaps etc. T.I.A.

I'm not crazy about the stock GT emblems, I'd prefer them gone altogether. If I saw something
better, I'd probably be interested.

Honestly, though, I'm not crazy about your design above.

What about, in the emblem above, replace the V8 with GT, and
do Powered by Ford to the right of the GT. "Powered" where the red is,
"by" in the next line down, "Ford" where it appears the Blue is now.
