Default For those with an aftermarket UCA

I am going to be installing a Lakewood adjustable UCA this weekend. This part didn't come with instruction soI went to BMR's site to see what their instructions entail. I am not installing a new mount, just the UCA. Their instructions indicate removing the mount to do the intstall. I am not crazy about this because that involves dropping the fuel tank. I believe BMR's instructions assume you are installing the mount as well. Can anyone confirm that you do or do not need to remove the mount to install a UCA?

Yeah, I've heard from other sites that it is necessary to drop the tank. This isn't going to be fun.

drop the tanks...makes life A LOT easier. they won't actually drop or fall on you. They are held on by straps on both sides. just remove the straps at the rear of the tank and they will come right down

I just had mine installed a few weeks ago and yes they removed the UCA mount. To remove the mount you need to remove the rear lower seat cushion. We loosened the gas tank strap on the drivers side for some more room, and disconnected the driveshaft in the rear also. It wasn't too bad but I wouldn't want to do it in the driveway that's for sure.

OK, I'll run it tonight until it's almost empty to facilitate easy moving of the tank. Unfortunately I don't have access to a lift so I will be doing this with the car on jack stands. Hopefully this is the last part I need to install for a while and hopefully I can get the pinion angle adjusted so that I lose the vibration at 100mph.

Hopefully it's just coming from the pinion angle being off from lowering the rear (Roush Springs) and my 1 piece DS. I don't notice anything on the street but during decel from 105 mph I notice it until it drops below 100

A couple things:

Read This: http://www.stangnet.com/Tech-Article...ll-080218.html

What year is your car - judging by your sceen name its an 06 so this probably isn't an issue? Sometime in 07 Ford switched the bolts that hold the fuel tank up to use a Torx head. Before you do anything, check your car to ensure you don't have these. If you do, Snap On is the only company that sells the bit you need: Snap On Torx Plus 50IP for fuel tank mounting straps. And the worst part is that darn bit costs $26.
