Default What's the best CAI?

I know this has been covered before but I have heard many different things about the CAIs available and i was just wondering which one has the greatest increase in HP, and how i could get the tune for it. Thanks

If you wanted to go with the JLT CAI then they will provide you their tune for $75. They seem to do quite well, but it appears that CAIs get about the same hp gains.

thanks, i thought i heard that the steeda CAI wasn't as good because it didn't come with new piping and was just a cone filter, if that's true does it make the same improvment as any other?

The Steeda is not just a cone filter. It is a high flow filter, a heat shield, and a new MAF. As for the new "piping", while yes it looks spiffy, and it might make a slight difference, it is not a show stopper. Now if you are a serious drag racer and you can pack your intake plumbing in ice for about 30 minutes prior to the run....then yes, the C&L intake tube is by far superior to the stock intake tubing. But for street roding and hotshoting, you are most likely not going to notice the difference between a Steeda and a C&L. The JLT uses plastic for their tubing. Doubt that it makes that much of a difference over stock. Especially in a hot engine compartment.

I will say that I originally had a MMR and it even had less components than the Steeda I currently run. Looking back in retrospect, I am pretty sure that I swapped it out for the Steeda because the Steeda was more visually appealing and no other reason....

Take that for what it is...
