Default Help please auto owners

Hello fellow mustang owners, i am new to the forum but i have been lurkin for a while. I have an 06 GT and i am having the o/d off flashing problem.

My question is for you people that have an automatic mustang, when you are cruising at around 70 mph what are your rpm's at, mine is at around 2100. I think my 5th gear is not going in. I am a new mustang owner so if i sound stupid sorry. When i step on the gas the overdrive engages perfectly but the o/d off keeps flashing. So pretty much my question is at how many rpm's r u at 70mph.

Thanks for all your help in adavance.

At that rpm, your fifth gear is engaging. I have 3.73's and Im humming along at 2450 or sorpm's at 70 mph. Im not familar with the o/d indicator light flashing off and on by itself. Sorry.

2100 @ 70 sounds right to me.

The o/d button is on the right side ofthe shift lever handle, hit it a few times and see if that helps, if not, take it in and get fixed under warr?

Sounds fine to me too, what gear ratio do you have? I have the 3.31s. Are you asking what the O/D Off light means? That means you pressed the button on the right hand side of the shifter...turning O/D off...

I'm not 100percent sure on the S197's but on the SN-95's a flashing o/d off light indicates a problem with the tranny, kinda like a check engine light. Get it to the dealer, especially if your still under warranty

expect those kinds of problems if the warranty is gone!

Is it shifting up into 5th gear? Can you count the gear changes to be sure? When you are in 5th what happens when you push the button that is supposed to turn OD off? Can you feel it drop down into 4th?

The OD light shouldn't flash but stay either on or off.
