Are you kidding me? Aren't you the one who claimed to have that stuck TBthat caused your car to have uncontrolled acceleration? Now it's uncontrolled stopping?? Ever think about selling it and starting over?

actually yes, and you kno what, they replaced the throttle body because I was told that the early 06s and before had a different throttle body and that tended to freeze during the winter or something like that, and actually my friend with a gt just had that stickin gas pedal a few weeks ago with his mustang, so im not the only one.

and its not stopping; it just shut off while driving. thats all. I was just curious if it could be anything serious.

P.S. Wouldnt sell her.

It was just a thought, but if there was a small spark when removing the jumper cables it could have affected some part of the computer. That potential spark is only 12V but cood be very large current. The tricky thing with current overloads and many electrical microprocessors is that they don't 'break', they still recieve signals on the pins when the board is powered, they are just randomly distorted and have higher rates of bit errors. Eventually those errors occur at the wrong time and the thing quits out on you. I've had the problem with higher voltage but similarly designed control systems. A friend of mine had a problem with a later 1990's car caused by this too. There are protection systems too, but nothing is garenteed. Obviously kinda far out there as an explanation but a possibility. If its true dealer will be able to find the error in the system and replace the computer.

wow, this is scary weird. Same exact thing happened to me today. I pulled in to my development after school and began to talk to a neighbor on his bike and was idling along beside him. My car is an auto, but when I went to hit the gas I got no response and the engine had cut out on me. Car was still in drive, key was still fully turned. I took out the key, restarted it but it kindof had a bit of a hesitation turning over. It did turn over, and when I got to my driveway I turned it on and off a couple times with no issues.

Scares me a bit.
