Are you buying the CAI & tune to improve fuel mileage or performance? If you're worried about fuel mileage, then save the ~$600 and put it towards gas.
The CAI & tune is a performance mod. The question should be what performance change people have noticed. But, to answer your question, I MAY have seen possibly about 1/2 mile per gallon improvement. I take 1-2, 800 mile trips per month and I hand calculate and average my mileage every month. My average is now a little over 23 MPG.

If you drive reasonably, then the CAI & tune at worst should give you equivalent to pre-tune mileage. Unfortunately, you'll want to go WOT more frequently... But for the woody you get with the CAI & tune, it's all worth it!

RE: MPG with CAI and tune??
right now i am strictly stock, have been wanting to do the cai/tune but am worried about warranty issues with the tune. however my main question is if you run a 87 tune how much more performace do you get over ther factory tune. (hope thats not a dumb question)

RE: MPG with CAI and tune??
I drive around 20 miles to work each way, mostly 40/55 mph zones. at the end of the week i fill up around 10 gallons and have 210 on the odometer.
Currently running a Brenspeed 93 Race tune with a C&L Street intake.
I did make a 3 hour trip to philly and managed around 27 to the gallon at 70 mph all the way
