Default JBA Shorty Headers

Who has these?

Did you install them yourself? How difficult is it? Any tips?

How much did the installation cost?

www.latemodelrestoration.com has them for $326.95, the cheapest I've seen by about $25.

I'm leaning toward the JBA's because they seem to have quality and they are the only ones that are equal length shorties.

A couple of reasons why I'm not going with LT's:

They are expensive to buy and install.
They will probably make my car louder than I want it to be.
They are very limited in midpipe choice.
I'm not exactly looking for performance gains....just a stronger exhaust note.
The sound of LT's is not "clean" enough for me.

Great sound improvement

I had someone install them, but I would do it myself now.

Good throttle response.

Get the ceramic coated version. These things out off alot of heat. That's the only thing I would change.

Oh, you will need motor mounts too.

What about FRPP? Do you need motor mounts for them?

I was looking at BBK because Brenspeed sells them, but I don't understand the "tuned length" concept. They are NOT equal length, so what in the world is "tuned length"???

Actually, the BBK are pretty close to being equal length. Maybe I'll get those so Brent will adjust my tune for free.

yep and yep....the tuned is what you want.

The FRPP are merely replacement manifolds, the tuned length BBK or JBA are tuned to give you gains at specific RPMs and such, that is why you gain midrange HP but not much high end HP like you do with LTs
