I'm 53 and find autos boring. Stick is much more fun thats why I've never been without one for long.

I fight LA traffic twice a day an hour each way, and I love the manual trans. Never regretted getting one.

What can I say. A sports car has only one type of transmission at least to me any way a manual.
First car 1974 VW Beetle 4sp
second car 1999 Ford Escort Zx2 5sp
Third car 2001 Nissan Altima auto
Current car 2006 Ford Mustang 5sp

I'm 17 and I have had a manual '07 for a year now and if I could learn to get really good with the stick then so can you. And as everyone else here said, I never regretted my choice. It has a more powerful feel to it and you can apply more of your own driving style to it.

I've always had manual's and I planned on getting one when I went to the stealership. I found out that they had a rebate on the auto which made it as cheap as the manual. I then remembered my last mustang, a 96 Cobra Vert. When I put it up for sale, most of the calls I got were looking for an auto. I was impressed by the auto when I drove it, which Ford claimed was as fast as the Manual. I don't believe it is true but I am still happy with it. I am almost 40, and I don't really care if the mustang next to me is a little faster. I still love the car.[sm=smiley20.gif]

If you are going to make it a 1/4 mile drag car, then I would say maybe a auto. Besides that, manual is WAY more fun to drive.

Yep, agree that Auto's are for the Drag strip. On the road they should be restricted toold ladies in Buicks.

I just went from a 07 manual Vertto an 08 Auto Vert. I live in washington DC area and the traffic was just to much for me after awhile. It got to the point where driving my car was no longer fun even though I love to drive the mustang with the top down.

With that being said, alot of people say it is more fun to drive a manual, well I can tell you this, you can drive an auto and still have fun, shifting up through the gears can give you the same feeling.

Also keep in mind people have different ideas of what fun driving is. I love the power of the mustang, I love the looks, but i am not into racing, I am not into a pissing contest of my car is faster then yours etc.. My idea of driving is having fun at times shifting through gears, but I just love to cruise with the top down, if I am constantly shifting that makes it less fun.
