Default Loss of power after SLP LM install?

I don't have dyno sheet to prove it, but I swear my car is not as fast as it was with the mufflers. I think I read a thread somewherethat there is a loss of torque when removing the mufflers, but I can't seem to find it in the sea of LM threads. Does anyone have an educated guess of how much is lost and if it should be noticeable?

Thanks
/LW

Yes, you will lose torque. By removing the stock mufflers, you will lose some. How much? I am not so sure, but I have seen it on these forums a few times.

Sadly enough cat backs do not add much power. I don't believe a muffler delete costs power either. I've got 302 rwhp and 318 rwtq wit SLP LMs, C&L, 93 octane tune, CMCVs, and UDPs. If anything it's a loss of about 2-3 rwtq.

I didn't feel it when I first put them on (because it was my first mod and didn't have any tunes), but once I switched to Boomtubes (after tunes) I definately felt it come back.

edit: I agree with the poster above me about the loss being insignificant on a stock car, but with an otherwise completely open system (like mine) the gain/loss could be felt a bit more.

didnt loose any, not that i noticed. i notice more power loss after so many thousand miles between oil changes. Cleaning my spark plugs after 10k and switching to synthetic seem to makes things run smoother and pick up some go.

This doesn't relate to slps. But i felt a clear loss of torque down low when I added my o/r h. Car also felt a little peppier stock than with just my stinger axlebacks. Or maybe that drone took over control of my brain.

Thanks guys.

All in all it was a bitter sweet day yesterday. Enjoyed the new sound but not only was I fighting the perception of power loss, I got my first door ding / paint chip. [:@]

I think it's all in your head... Your not going to truly tell the difference in a 1% loss of power.
either way. Just like with a cai and tune what you notice more then anything is the inproved throttle response over the power gain.
