Took a little trip yesterday, racked up close to 600 miles and ended up getting just a hair under 26mpg.

I was happily shocked to say the least.

Its the same deal for me. I have an 06 with a procharged 4.6. It has a custom tune as well. I average 26-27 city and almost 30 highway. My V8 BMW that I just sold was a hair under 19. Pretty solid!

Was that hand-calculated, fillup-to-fillup? If so, impressive. If it's based on the computer, don't believe it.

I can see 26 hw at like 55 the whole way. but 26-27 city.... I dont even think ford has gotten it that high in the city. Unless u can shut down 6 cyc and run on 2.

Me too...drove mine (08 GT 5 speed...3:31:1 gears(think that was the key maybe))to South Bend, Indiana from Red Bay, Alabama two weeks ago...racked up almost 1300 miles...got 25-27 mpg (hand calculated)...the computer never registered that high tho, only (about 25.6 was as high a s it would go)...but between the four fillups...that had to be pretty close...I was pretty happy...400 miles plus on a tank...pretty sweet in a V-8...I didn't let any grass grow along the way either

I have averaged over 20 in the first 800 miles. 25-26 on the highway is about what I am getting. Also, I have found the computer to be extremely accurate.

When I first read your post I thought that you were shocked at how bad 26mpg is... and to be honest it isn't that good. I get 29 on the highway often...

I'm lucky to do better than 17mpg in town. Constant stop and go, short (sub 3 mile) trips, rarely over 35mph.

i have gotten between 26 and 31 on the highway (stated by computer, confirmed by hand calc.)
