Leather Seat Question

RE: Leather Seat Question
*sigh* It's on the arm area near the door on the inside part of the seat. Took almost an entire bottle of leather cleaner, and looks somewhat decent. Got the green out, but the leather doesn't look that great still. I would take a picture if I had a good camera. Btw it's not green, but turning a greenish color

Just take a good close up photo so we can understand and recommend the best course of action.

RE: Leather Seat Question
Hey guy I had my driver's side replaced top and bottom. Now months later it is discolored again however their isn't any tears. The dealer will take pictures of it and it will be sent to Michigan and then they will give you an answer. One thing though when theyinstalled my top portion of the seat itnever conform to the fitlike the original seat did. These seats in my opinion aren't the best of quality. All the other seats in the car are o.k. The back seat since it's hardly used is seating pretty.
One thing to remember you can't go overboard on cleaning them or you will literally take the dye out of the seat. There are people in the yellow pages that can spray your seat with paint and make them look new again. Good luck.

anotherthing my car seat has taken a blue tint from my uniform. Lay down a towel during the summer months so when you initially take your seat that you don't transfer dyes from your clothes into the seat. Good Luck.

Uh, nobody is going to understand that at all!
Just take a good close up photo so we can understand and recommend the best course of action.

RE: Leather Seat Question
As a former ford dealer employee, this is what I would suggest. Get the seat or seats cleaned up and take it to the dealer, ask for the service manager and ask if he will take a look at your seat. He'll either say yeah, we can order a new seat bottom, top whatever or he'll say that is normal wear and tear, I can't help you. Either way you'll have an answer right away and their final answer cause its the manager.
Most decent dealers will have a S/M that will comeout and look at your car without an appt. Infactthemanagerat our place prefered that approach.

RE: Leather Seat Question
thats why i made sure my Mustang didnt have leather. I have owned 2 other ford truck/car with leather and its crap for a Daily Driver. horrible quality. If the mustang was for weekends or shows then yeahleather all theway. My dad has Leather in his Sequoia with over 80k miles on it and it still looks brand new. I think the ford leather is really cheap and not worth the money if its in a DD. IMO
