Sounds great. Where's the best place to buy one?

This Shelby one actually uses 4 mounting bolts per side and the
bracket is formed to fit the OEM top strut tower stamped steel
and lock into place placing no sideways load onto the upper strut
bearing mounting bolts. This is the only one I would even consder
for price and functionallity if I was ever wanting to purchase one.

Shelby is finally shipping these. Mine arrived today, and in fifteen minutes it was Locked On, so to speak. It looks a lot like the one in Post #10, except for the shape of the attachment plates, as 157db mentioned.

No picture there yet. You can see it in the catalog, on page 14.
Here it is on Moss Mustangs:

On the previous bar I used an extra fender washer under each mounting nut, figuring to add a bit of clamping area over the slots in the plates. They were a little soft, and I reckon I'll be going to Henry's or some place to find some higher grade washers.

You have to wonder what it was about the Ford assembly that required such big ol' holes. Certainly the upper shock mounts don't vary that much from car to car!

I'm the guy who recognized a 60% reduction of cowl shake in a V6 convertible. That piece of road has been repaved, so I can't anticipate duplicating the test, but the single-bar BMR bar that made the difference was worth the hundred dollars. This one is more expensive, and weighs easily twice what the BMR does, and may only incrementally improve on the lighter one.

Win a couple, lose a couple.

Thanks for the update fyougitive! Good to hear an honest opinion of a product. I'll have to say, if I ever ponied up for a brace it would be the 3-point Edelbrock. I've heard from several "road racer" types that the only brace that really "braces" is a 3-point.

I have a Shaker scoop; does anyone make a brace that will work with it?

I think they are probably right. That third point must have some influence in a third direction that the simple ones don't. Maybe next year ...
